The King was so frightened by Wu-k'ung that he had his judge consult the book in which was recorded the life and death of all people.The book said that the stone monkey would live to be three hundred and forty two years old.Learning that his new immortality had not been properly recorded in the book,the Monkey King angrily crossed out his name and those of all the other monkeys.He then made straight for the Cave.
