When the medicine had been prepared according to the prescription,and Pao-yu had taken it,he did indeed calm down a little,but he still refused to let Tzu-chuan go.The Lady Dowager therefore let Tzu-chuan stay with him and dispatched her own maid,Hup'o, to look after Tai-yu.Tzu-chuan served Pao-yu day and night without any complaint.
