Then,after clearing his throat,adjusting his cloths and sitting up straight,Master Ch'en told his pupils seriously:"The three hundred songs can be summed up in one phrase.Remember well these three words:Think of no evil!Being women,you ought to follow the good example of those charming ladies in the songs who were excellent mothers,of those virtuous queens who were above jealousy,and of those thrifty,unadorned maids of taste and refinement,who ordered well house and home.You must never on any account be careless in this respect!"
