Hung Niang begged Scholar Chang to explain the poem to her.He explained exultantly,"The verse 'Someone will be waiting at the Western Chamber until the moon rises;the door will be half open to let the wind in' means while the moon is rising,she will open the door and wait for me.The verse 'The flower shadows move to and fro;I wonder if my lover is comming' means she wants me to climb over the wall to meet her."
