The next day, King Huai hosted a banquet for Chang I,and Ch'u Yuan criticized Tzu-lan and Chin Shang for their of the so-called Ch'u-Ch'in friendship. He believed that abandoning the six-state alliance would yield to Ch'in's opportunities for further expansion and eventually threaten the very existence of Ch'u itself.
