*2 large eggs
*2 c. flour
*0.5 c. powdered sugar
*0.25 t. salt
*1 t. baking soda or baking
powder
*2 c. sifted flour
*oil
Method:
1. In a bowl, mix eggs,
flour, sugar, salt and
baking soda thoroughly
until sugar is
dissolved; add flour;
knead it into a soft
dough. If the dough is
too dry, add water; if
too moist, add flour.
Knead the dough until
it is smooth; let it
sit for 30 minutes.
2. Roll the dough into a
thin sheet; cut the
sheet into 24 pieces.
3. Use one hand to take a
piece of dough and
lightly stretch the
strip while the other
hand holds the opposite
end firmly pressed on
the table. Twist the
strip to form a spiral.
Bring both ends of the
twisted strips together
and twist them so that
the ends connect. Make
the other twists in the
same manner.
4. Heat the wok, then add
oil. Deep-fry the twists
over medium heat for 4
minutes or until they
are golden brown.
Remove, drain and cool.
Serve.
