Nanyu by style name,Shenghua jushi by sobriquet,a native of Xiuning,Anhui province,was a painter of the Ming dynasty. He excelled in painting human figure and Buddhist statue, following Wen Zhenming, Qiu Ying and the style of the Song dynasty and the Yuan dynasty. In his middle ages,he utilized pure and minute brushstrokes,and strong and terse when he was.He was also gifted in painting landscapes.
