A native of Songjiang,Shanghai City.His style name was Xuan Zai and his sobriquets were Si Bai,etc.He was a high official.Following the style of Dong Yuan,Ju Ran,Huang Gongwang and Ni Zan,his landscapes paintings executed elegant and refined with ancient atmosphere.He was the leader of the "Hua Ting school literati".After studying the style of Two Wang,he fully demonstrated his preeminent talent for his calligraphy.He advocated the Literary Painting and gave considerable influence to later painters.His works were included in "Essay about Painting Written in HuaChan Studio",etc.
