A native of Hangzhou, ZheJiang province,was a painter of the Ming dynasty. His style name was Tianshu diesou, Shi Toutou and Dongguo laoren by sobriquets. He excelled in painting landscapes,following the style of Huang Gongwang and Wu Zhen,absorbing the technique of painting from the Painting Academy of the South Song Dynasty.He was also skilled in painting human figures, flower-and-bird,was called "The Zhe Style" and "Dian Jun" in the later period.His son,Lan Yu,and his grandson,Lan Shen,were good at painting too.
