The painter in the Ming Dynasty,a native of Taichang,ZheJiang province.His style was Shi Fu and his sobriquet was Shi Zhou.He made a living on selling his paintings.First studying painting under Zhou Chen,he was talented in painting human figures and landscpaes, especially excelled in painting court lady figures which executed in meticulous and bright colors.His landscapes paintings followed the style of Zhao Boju and Liu Songnian.Dong Qichang said that Wen Zhenming and Shen Zhou were not equal to him.He was honored as the Four Great Masters in the Ming Dynasty with Shen Zhou,Wen Zhenming and Tang Yin;on the other hand,he was the leader of the "Wu Men" painting school literati.
