The painter in Northern Song Dynasty,a native of Yanting, SiChuan province.His style name was Yu Ke and his sobriquets were Mr. laugh,etc. He passed a civil recruitment examination with distinction, then became a high official. He was talented in painting, calligraphy and prose, especially excelled in painting ink bamboo. He advocated that "Bamboo must be in your mind before you paint it".His paintings executed profound and exquisite strokes which were commented on their realism. His written works were included in "The collection of Dan Yuan".
