::Ge Yuan

It is one of the famous gardenings in our country and located at Dong Guan street in Yangzhou,JiangSu Province.It is said that it was an old site of "Shouzhi Yuan"built by a well-known painter,Shi Tao,in the early Qing dynasty.It was completed and had itsextended construction by a salt merchant,Huang Ying Tai at the original site in the years between Jiaqing and Dao Guang in Qing dyansty.As the Huang's alternative name was "Ge",and the green bamboos were planted everywhere in the garden because the form of the leave likes "Ge"--Chinese photograph--, the garden's name was nominated.The main landscapes of the garden are bamboos and stone.The four seasoHe Yuanns' rockery--Spring,Summer,Autumn and Winter--is piled up with bamboo's stone,lake's stone,yellow store and old aged stone respective.Each rockery has each character.The formal hall is "Yi Yu" which is grand and honest,and decoration and layout of it is sumptuous to show the owner's identity and wealth.The "Yiyu Xuan" and the four seasons' rockery are considered a local color in Yangzhou's gardening.
