The former name is "Chun-Zai Lou'.Originally it was a wealthy merchant,Jin's residence and is located in an old town,"Dong-Shan",in Suzhou's Wu Xian(county).It was constructed in the early years of Republic China,when it adopted the Chinese traditional design.And at the same time it is introduced the west foreign countries' constructive material and technology,so it may be said a product made by China and western countries.Everywhere in the architecture has excellent carving.On substance,there are wood carving,gold carving and bamboo carving;on the artcraft,there are relief,round carving,hollow-out carving and positive-negative carving,etc."Chunzai Lou"is a master piece of works for carving in the building in the south of the river and is "the first building in the south of the river"and whose reputation has been through out the country and the world.
