SiChuan is a province in southern China.The upper Yangtze River crosses it.It has a total area of about 569,000 sq km and a population 83,290,000 (2000).As the most populous and one of the largest Chinese provinces, it has as its economic focus on the fertile SiChuan, or Basin in the east.
